Shikihime Garden is a free to play turn based cards game developed and published by Appirits. Following the popularity gained among the Japanese playerbase, Appirits decided to launch an English version. Players only need an account to join as Shikihime Garden is one of the free browser games that doesn’t require download or installation. Gameplay mixes turn based card battles with farm/garden simulator features. Shikihime are cute Chibi creatures that inhabit gardens but also take part in battles. Shikihime Garden art style is based on popular Japanese myths and legends.
Card mode and Simulation mode are the 2 Shikihime Garden gameplay components. Card mode plays just like a collectible cards game. Players build decks using Shikihime cards. Just like MMORPG characters, monster cards have attributes and unique abilities. Strength, agility and defense are the 3 card attributes. After winning card confrontations, players receive new Shikihime cards, items and unlock more regions of the game world. There is also a feature that allows players to combine cards and add special Shikihime to their collections. Players can opt for solo gameplay but there are challenging bosses that can only be defeated as part of a team. Quest and missions are a great way to rank up and obtain garden items. Simulation mode is a combat free activity. Gardens are places where Shikihime creatures live and train for upcoming battles. They enjoy eating rice balls, talking to each other and practicing combat moves. These little creatures can even put on a little show if they have a garden stage. Players have a rich selection of garden decorations to choose from but also buildings that improve Shikihime combat stats. All kinds of flowers, trees, outdoors furniture and lanterns are used to make Shikihime Garden a pleasant place.
Action points and different types of currency are used to perform Shikihime Garden activities and to acquire new items. Action points are spent when taking part in card battles, these points are replenished over time or instantly by using consumables. Coins, silver and gold are gained just by playing Shikihime Garden and are used at the game shop or to summon special Shikihime. Shikihime Garden is one of the browser games that use microtransactions. Power is premium currency obtained with real cash. Premium players gain small advantages but game progress or skill cannot be bought. Shikihime Garden cash shop doesn’t sell booster packs. Playing the game is the only way to get new cards. Simple mechanics, nice graphics, cute creatures and strategic card battles make Shikihime Garden a great game for the casual players.
