Overview

Might and Magic Heroes Kingdoms or MMHK is a free to play, 2D strategy title based on the highly popular Might and Magic franchise. The original Might and Magic franchise began way back in 1996 and has since spawned over 10 unique gaming titles. The franchise is considered to be the foundations of today's PC role-playing community with Might and Magic Heroes Kingdoms being the first browser games adaption for the iconic franchise.

Might and Magic Heroes Kingdoms follows the lore of the traditional Might and Magic titles, taking place in a world torn apart by war. Players must choose to align with 1 of 3 factions, Haven, Inferno and Necropolis. Each faction is unique in many ways as they all have their own abilities, units, buildings and available heroes. Each faction is also affiliated with a certain style which has various effects on the primary strengths and weaknesses of the faction. Although choosing your faction is a permanent choice, you're still able to start in other areas and ally with other factions.

The combat in MMHK is automated but players must make vital strategic choices such as unit amount and deployment. There are 3 core units in the game, Melee, Range and Cavalry. Melee beats Range, Range beats Cavalry and Cavalry beast Melee, this forms the circle of damage within the game. This allows players to carefully select what units they want to take in to battle, depending on the units their opposition is using.

The Hero system in MMHK is also very in-depth, offering more than just an avatar that commands your army. You will get assigned your first hero at the start of the game, but as you progress you're able to recruit more for a bit of coin. Heroes level up, gain stats and can equip various items. Each hero also has a different growth pattern, with some leveling quickly at the start while others progress through the higher levels at a faster rate. A fine balance between hero types goes a long way towards a successful campaign in Might and Magic Heroes Kingdoms. You can also choose what areas your hero specializes in, these are called Careers. Careers offer permanent buffs for your hero and the effects vary greatly, from increasing the strength of your military units, to quickening the speed of construction.
