Command and Conquer: Tiberium Alliance confronts rumors of closing
Earlier this month, we received the sad news that one of the most anticipated MMORTS games of 2013/2014, Command and Conquer was getting axed. News of its closure hit the whole MMO industry hard, in particular the developers at its franchise comrade, Command and Conquer: Tiberium Alliance. Although the game operates out of a completely different studio, it's connection with the Command and Conquer Generals sequel were enough to cast doubts upon the games future prosperity.
This week, the Command and Conquer: Tiberium Alliance team have responded to the rumors that it may be shutting down.
"Lets make one thing crystal clear: We do not have any intention to shut down Tiberium Alliances, the total opposite is the case."
The Community Team proclaimed, in its latest broadcast.
"We not just want to keep the game alive, we want to get in long overdue features and even try out new things. We are going to invest even more in increased community work and support and you should see increased coverage shortly."
The open letter states that, although Command and Conquer: Tiberium Alliance still flies the EA flag, (the EA Phenomic logo can still be seen all over the game and website), the game is now being handled by the EASY Studios in Stockholm, and is independent from any of Phenomic's creative decisions.
The letter still appears a little grey, however; and only states the developers feelings and intentions with the game, without a definitive "yes" of "no" in sight. Let's hope this Command and Conquer is sticking around.
