It's always amazing when a popular gaming entity finds its way into another game entirely. Our specific case of this is the introduction of the insanely popular Acquisitions Incorporated crew (from the Penny Arcade podcasts and PAX live presentations) to the Card Hunter browser mmo. Players will now be able to control Omin Dran, Binwin Bronzebottom, and Jim Darkmagic in series of adventures as the group searches for profit in Cardhuntria. Players... Read

There's some good news and not-so-good news for players who love the Card Hunter browser mmo. The good news is that there's a new expansion being worked on, and this expansion is tentatively being called "AI" for the moment. Card Hunter is one browser mmo that took me totally by surprise. When I read that the game had first launched, the visuals of the game really hooked me as it definitely harkened back to the very beginnings of pen-and-paper role-playing games. I grew up playing old school rpgs, like Dungeons and Dragons, Traveller, and Palladium, when artwork was not polished and rulebooks were pretty thin and bare-bones. Card Hunter took that nostalgic feel of th... Read

Even better is that you can easily play it solo or engage in some robust PvP against other players. Now the game looks to improve itself with the release of a new expansion. Let's sling some virtual d... Read

It's hard to believe, but it's been almost a full year since Card Hunter launched. This browser mmo took gaming geeks by storm as it mixed tabletop action with the card collecting strategy of games like Magic: The Gathering, but all of it neatly wrapped up in old-school Dungeons and Dragons nostalgia. To celebrate the Card Hunter first anniversary, the game is having a massive celebration over the weekend. The action will start at 5pm PST tomorro... Read

For most online games, it's easy to put them in their prospective niche. Some games are pure action, whilst others are empire-building strategy games. However, there are some games that really make an unique impression every time you play it. One of those games is Card Hunter, a hybrid comprised of collectible card games and board games, all wrapped together in an old-school tabletop roleplaying vibe. The fact that Richard Garfield, the creator o... Read
