Players take to the high seas for adventure in Battle Pirates, the rts browser game developed by Kixeye. Set in the apocalyptic future, players survive through piracy as they struggle against the evil Draconian Empire. The game is set in the year 2067, several environmental catastrophes have led to the Earth being almost fully covered in water. The fight for resources and survival has led to the creation of two factions. The Draconian Empire is comprised of elite citizens and corrupt nations who have banded together into a powerful, but tyrannical faction. The rest of humanity, those without power and the outcast, have banded together as the Forsaken. These independent souls battle for survival by committing piracy against the Draconians or other players.
Battle Pirates has the normal real time strategy gameplay fans love. Players have to carefully manage their resources to build up their own private empire. As this rts game begins, the player starts with a modest island base that they'll work to expand and upgrade over time. Players can construct a wide variety of structures in order to access their capabilities. The buildings can be leveled up through spending resources and will result in greater abilities. Structures can range from defensive (walls, platforms) to production (shipyards) to research (tactical lab, weapons lab) and more. The Outpost serves as the hub of your island and it provides a greater area for your operations as it increases in level.
Having an island base is only just the beginning for this real time strategy game. Players will need fleets of ships in order to expand or defend themselves in Battle Pirates. Players will need to research new hull types to develop as well as new weapon and defensive upgrades to put on their ships. Each ship type has their own unique stats and has a number of slots available for weapons, armor, and special items. The more advanced the ship, the greater the number of slots. Players will also need to pay attention to the cargo size of each ship as that will impact the resources brought back from acts of piracy.
Players can use their fleets to attack Draconian Empire fleets to steal their resources or to attack other players in real time combat. The naval action in this free browser game is fluid with a good deal of strategy involved. Battle Pirates can be played through the browser of your choice and also on Facebook.
